Need to open those Word files from school?
You must have been in that situation, you really need to open your school work at home but you don't want to pay for MS Office.
Here's the answer, Openoffice.org is a free, open source, office suite which is completly compatible with your Word, Excel and Powerpoint work.
It's also very easy to try and because it's free there no worries if you don't like it.
The screenshot above shows OpenOffice Writer. This is the equivalent to Word and will open your Word files. The screenshot to the right shows OpenOffice Impress, the Powerpoint equivalent. Click on either of the images to enlarge them.
